The idea behind the Route token is to help fund a better swap experience. We plan to use token-related fee revenue to reduce what users pay in gas, fund token buybacks and support development. This is the planned model, not a live fee or rewards program. The fee source and launch details are still to be confirmed. Route currently charges no swap platform fee, and this plan does not change that policy.

Planned revenue split

Token-related fee revenue would be allocated as follows: These percentages divide the revenue collected. They are not fees charged on each swap.

Help cover swap gas

5% of the revenue would fund gas sponsorship on eligible Route swaps. The goal is simple: leave users with more value after the cost of executing a trade. The benefit will depend on the gas covered and the size of the swap. There is no fixed bps advantage across all trades. A better quote elsewhere could still outweigh the gas subsidy. We will measure the full cost before claiming a lead over another exchange.

Token buybacks

65% of the revenue would go toward buying back Route tokens. How buybacks would work is still to be confirmed. Buybacks would depend on available funds and do not guarantee a token price or return.

Keep building

Our first goal is to make Route the best-value router on Robinhood Chain. That means finding better routes, delivering quotes faster and keeping execution costs low, so users receive more after fees and gas. Once we have proven that consistently, the next goal is to expand to swaps across chains. We also plan to explore trading bots with no Route platform fee and privacy-focused swaps. 30% of the revenue would support development, including infrastructure, testing and security reviews. We want to keep Route simple as it grows. Cross-chain swaps, trading bots and privacy swaps are future plans, not features available on Route today. Even with no Route platform fee, gas and pool or provider charges may still apply. We will explain any privacy protections and their limits before launch. We will publish the fee source, operating details and launch terms before the funding program goes live. Gas sponsorship and buybacks are planned uses of funds, not features available today.
