# Fees

> What a swap costs.

Route charges a fee on the output of each swap. The default is **10 bps (0.10%)**. Your agreed rate is fixed on your key and applies to every swap you build. It cannot be changed per request; to change it, DM @rapidssh.

The fee is taken once from the swap's actual output inside the executor and paid to the Route treasury Safe `0x3b9C7bC09FF64F554480f30Ad40286cFc09d2F80`. The rest goes to `recipient`.

## Reading the fee in a response

| Field | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `swap.amountOut` | Output before the Route fee |
| `swap.fee` | Route fee, in output-token units |
| `swap.feeBps` | Fee rate in basis points |
| `swap.netOut` | Output after the Route fee. Show this to the user. |
| `swap.minOut` | Minimum the recipient receives after the fee |

Pool fees are already included in `amountOut`. Network gas is paid separately by the signing wallet.

## Two different "net" values

The top-level `netOut` is the quote's output minus estimated gas cost in output-token units (`gasCostOut`). It is a ranking figure and does not include the Route fee. Use `swap.netOut` for what the user receives.
